Wow, time to update!

So in September we found out we were pregnant again. It's so hard to believe that 3 years ago, we were struggling to have children and now it seems we are playing catch up. It is a boy and will be here in May. I am excited, but don't know much about taking care of a boy!

Kimber is doing great. She started walking at about 13 months. Her language is incredible. She speaks full sentences at 18 months and knows how to count to 9. She also recognizes most of the letters of the alphabet. She will bring us books about the alphabet and name every one. She will also name all of the letter magnets on the refridgerator. Her favorite letter seems to be " W", which she calls "double". She can say Mommy, Daddy, Maddie, Evah, Grandma, cat, dog, apple, zebra, elmo, I don't want that, I want down right now, cup, milk, fries.  She follows Maddie around everywhere and they love to chase each other. She has joined Maddie at dance class and follows the teacher's directions very well. She can operate the ipad by herself. She is a good eater, and loves banana's, chicken nuggets, and to drink mom's coke. She loves Elmo and can name most of the characters on Sesame Street. She loves books and we read a lot. She is also helping Maddie potty train by wearing underwear on the outside of her clothes, and sitting on the potty.

Maddie is doing great. She recently stayed in the hospital overnight, which I think she thought was pretty cool. We've been dealing with her asthma and RSV, but seems to be on the recovery path.

Maddie is a very sweet girl who's language is exploding. She speaks full sentences, knows all of the alphabet, and can count to 14 and 2 and a half.  She loves to play with little toys. She will line them up and she's starting to make her toys talk. She loves dolly's ( barbies), princesses, jungle animals, and most of all, dinosaurs.  She is becoming very independant and has her own personality. She knows all of her shapes and will point them out in a real world environment. I often have to boast to myself that she knows as much as many of my four year old students at school, yet she is half of their age. We are working on her potty training.

Long time no post! here is what the girls are doing

Kimber turned one. She can say a lot of animal sounds, cheese, get down, go and mama and dada. She started crawling around ten months. She can go up and down the stairs and pull herself up on the furniture. It was a surprise to see she can get in the recliner by herself. She had her birthday party at Chuck E Cheese and was not a fan of the party or the people there, but she loved Chuck E Cheese himself. Kimber likes to eat nearly any kind of food. She has two teeth on the top and one poking through on the bottom.  Kimber also follows along with the actions of  " If you're happy and you know it" and will clap her hands and shout hurray!  She also likes to rawr like a dinosaur.

Madison has turned two. She is starting to recognize letters. This weekend we went to Hobby Lobby and she correctly identified all of the letters on the sign in the front. She also knows heart, star and circle. She knows the color blue. She likes to say " come and play honey!"  " what you doing honey?" " chocolate in or chocolate cheese" for chocolate milk. She has started dance class and most of the time enjoys it. She follows along really well. She loves her cousin Ary.

Kimber is now 6 months old. She can sit up with some support and is eating baby food. She likes Apples, carrots, squash and sweet potatoes. She is reaching for toys and other objects on the ground. If she gets paper, Madison will take it away from her. Kimber loves bath time and to splash around. She took her first bath with sister today.

I think it will be soon that Kimber starts to roll over. She is not a fan of tummy time.

Kimber wakes up happy cooing every morning in her crib. She is an extremely happy baby. She currently weighs close to 24 pounds of cuddly love.  She loves to give hugs and is very ticklish.

We've had a very scary weekend dealing with some newly found health conditions that she has on her brain, but she is doing well. We had a trip up to Primary Childrens hospital to figure out what was going on.

Kimber has the sweetest personality. This baby is nearly always happy. She's such a sweet girl. Very little of her pretty red hair has rubbed off. People always are complimenting the pretty color and saying they don't know where you could have possibly come from.

She is putting toys in her mouth now, and will find random pieces of clothing or blankets and put those in her mouth as well.

Madison is 17 months old. She weighs 25 pounds. Her pretty brown hair is long enough to be in a bob.

Madison has her favorite blanket still, and must have her favorite stuffed cat with her most of the time.

Madison can say " cool" now, and refers to many objects as such. We went to Petsmart and all of the animals were cool to her.  She can also say grandma, dada, elmo, show, cup. She makes animals sounds for the duck, frog, cat, turkey, bee, and horse. Her favorite books are animal sounds, the happy man and his dump truck, and thomas the train. She calls her sister " key" or " kiki". We have started calling Kimber Kiki as well.

Maddie does an adorable dance where she kicks out one leg and spins in a circle. She loves to dance to songs mom and dad make up.

She can lie down in the bathtub by herself.

She loves Elmo still. All day long she says " elmo show, elmo show". Sometimes she gets very upset when we don't allow her to watch a ton of tv.

In her Mister Brown can Moo book, she makes the sound of a Goldfish kiss. " pip"

Madison recently stayed with Grandma Roxie while we were attending to Kimber's medical needs. When I went to pick her up, Madison wanted nothing to do with me. The moment she saw me, she said " Key? Key?" She was very worried about her sister.  These sisters love each other very much.

Madison appears to have a good majority of her teeth. She loves to steal mom's toothbrush to brush her teeth.

Kimber is now 4 months old. She blows bubbles with her mouth, and is always such a happy baby. She jabbers a lot.She loves to watch her sister. She is getting very wiggly when you hold her. She is great to sleep most of the night most of the time. She is 27 inches long and 19 pounds 14 oz. She is kicking all of the time. She has always loved her baths, and is almost too big for the baby tub. She's a healthy growing girl. She is such a great contribution to our little family!

Madison can say ball, cat, cuP ( with a hard emphasis on the P), fish (which she says shy-ish), mama, dada, grandpa ( who really is grandMA), Go,Hi, bye, and when she blows kisses she says "buh!".  She can tell us what the frog says  ( croak croak) and what the Owl says ( whoooo) because of her favorite book, Animal sounds.

She is climbing on everything. Often times I find her on top of the kitchen table. She loves bathtime, and she'll lay down in the tub by herself. Her favorite foods are cheese, pasta, clemintine oranges, ANY type of candy, and chinese noodles. She gives the best hugs, and often will give them to Kimber. She no longer will hit Kimber, in fact she is very conscious of her. However, sharing toys with her is not an option.  She loves to help unload the dishwasher and to help mom do the laundry. She's recently started getting into mom's makeup.

Reading books is Maddie's favorite thing to do. She will sign "again"when her book is over.  Kimber also listens very well to the books. I hope this instills a lifelong love of reading in these girls.

I cannot express what a blessing it is to have you two. Often times, when the world is a cruel and scary place, even for your Mom, I can look at you two and know how loved I am. I hope I can always express how much I love you two. I know I will make mistakes, and I already have made some. You are such tiny sweet spirits. I hope that I can always be close with you girls and you will know how much your Dad and I love you. I hope that as you grow older that we can always understand each other and never be at odds. I am now recognizing the sacrifices my parents went through to raise your Uncle Jesse and I. I hope that I have learned from the good and the bad from them, and I can be a great mom to you both. I am also understanding perhaps why it took so long for you to come to me and your Dad. We need you now and I think I appreciate you now at this time in my life then I would have earlier, oddly.I have overcome much in my life, and I'm still working on myself. I hope I can teach you what I know and you can learn from my experiences. I love you girls so much.

We welcomed baby Kimber on September 4th. She was 8.6 ounces and was 21 inches long. At 12 noon you were born. The first time I heard you cry I cried too. I was grateful you got here safe. It was hard for me to not be able to hold you right after you were born, and while it didn't seem like a long time for me to recover from the surgery, it ended up being close to four hours! I was pretty nervous because I had to have a csection. I didnt get to see you until about 4:00 p.m., but your dad took good care of you for your first bath. All of the nurses loved your red hair. Maddie came to see you, and on the first day she didnt know what to think about you, except when she went home she gave you a hug.

Since you've been home, Maddie will come close to you and say " aww!" and put her head down on you. At first she would hit you a little bit, but as time has gone on the hitting has stopped. In fact, Maddie tries to feed you a bottle and whenever you cry she'll try to put a binky in your mouth.

You are a good baby, very quiet and really only cry when you are hungry. The past few weeks you've had a little colic but nothing too bad.

Having two babies has been fun, and a lot of work. I was worried I wouldn't have the time or energy for both of you, but it seems to be working itself out. I am just grateful I've been able to have two healthy little girls.

Maddie has been walking a little bit starting at one year old. She also blows kisses, waves goodbye, and  says " hot".  We had your first birthday party where all of your aunts and uncles, and cousins came.  It was an Elmo themed party. You also like to dance and say yes and no. You can climb stairs now as well.

One of my favorite things you do right now Maddie is scrunch up your nose when you don't understand or like something. Your dad calls it your crusty look.

All in all things are going well. We are happy to be in our new house.

Here are some updates of things Maddie is doing

8 months began to crawl. At first, it was a hand and foot crawl, you wouldn't crawl on your knees. Eventually though, you started crawling on your knees, unless it is a hard, cold surface.

At just about 10 months, you started eating actual food. For a long time you would not eat anything with a texture, you would just spit it out. The first thing you ate, much to Mom's surprise, was baby cheetos. We had tried them before and you would just spit them out, but one day I looked for the cheeto, and it was gone! I then gave you more, and you would eat them just fine. So, some of your favorite foods to eat at 10 months are: vienna sausages, saltine crackers, baby cheetos, bananas, apple slices, and today dad gave you an avacado. I'm not sure how much you liked that one.

Another favorite food seems to be Indian food. You like the curry sauce, and the people at the Indian food place think you are very cute.

We have spent all summer hanging out. We finally got moved into our new house and you like it a lot. You like to sit on the bottom of the bookshelf in the living room, and you love to climb the stairs. The first stairs you climbed were the ones at Grandmas house, the cement stairs in the front. You go up them pretty well, but down is another challenge.

One of the biggest accomplishments you have made is about at 8 months you started sleeping through the night. It's really been good for you, and mom!

At 9 months, you've started dancing to music. Aunt Stefanie gave you a toy of Lexi's that plays music. You hit the buttons and it plays music. You love that toy and play with it often.

This past month you have been picking up on the baby signs. You have " all done" down, and today you signed milk. I am excited to teach you more signs.

You got your first tooth at 9 months, the bottom left. You have recently cut one on the top, and the next one is coming soon after that I can see. You don't seem to be affected by teething too much, a little crabby every once in awhile, but not bad.

You love bath time. You also like to stand up in the bathtub, which Mom and Dad do not like, just because we don't want you to get hurt. When we ask you if you're all done when you do that, you sit back down.

You love to play with Savannah. I think she is one of your favorite people. You also really love Grandma. I think Grandma is having a hard time adjusting to you not being there all the time, but we see her about every day or every other day, so it's good. You also like to play with Evah, but you fight a lot with her as well. You always seem to teach Mason something. He noticed you standing up by the couch, and he pulled himself up next to you for the first time ever.

I am glad I have been able to stay home this summer and watch you grow and develop.

Long time no post!

We have been surviving mom doing her student teaching since March. It is hard to leave every day but we are almost done now.

You are now rolling over since March. You rolled over in the middle of the night, Dad and I both got to see. I was so afraid it would happen while I was gone, but luckily it didnt! You are also sitting up. You are still a little rolly but for the most part you do great. You also say "DADA" all the time, and you love to laugh.

You are very funny. You will roll on your stomach in the middle of the night and start to whine like a puppy. Sometimes Mom is so tired she pulls you into bed with her and Dad. I secretly think this is your plan all along, because you sleep so good afterwards!

You weigh about 20 pounds at about 7 months. So far you have been very healthy, you've only gotten sick once so far, and even then it wasn't too bad.

You love to grab EVERYTHING. Your favorite things to grab are the ipad and cell phones.

You don't have any teeth yet, but I think you are working on it because you are a drooly girl.

You are just the cutest girl, and I love you very much!
